What do we do at CBCat?

We promote the adoption of blockchain technology projects in Catalonia, as a tool to enhance the rest of digital technologies, through dissemination, training and advice.

Training

One of the main objectives of the CBCat is to make educational resources around the blockchain available to the population of Catalonia, so that interested people have the opportunity to train in this technology.

Dissemination

The world of blockchain technology is at an explosive time. Every day there are news of interest, both internationally and in our territory. The CBCat collects these news in its blog, where news of interest to people with all levels of knowledge is published weekly.

Events

The CBCat holds two annual events: the BxCat (Blockchain for Catalonia), a fair aimed at Catalan society and its business fabric, which takes place in Girona in May; and D4A (Democracy4All), a congress specialized in technopolitics that takes place in Barcelona in November.

Own Projects

The CBCat develops a series of its own projects always with the aim of moving towards the mass adoption of blockchain technology by Catalan society.

Accompaniment

One of the services that CBCat offers its members is support when applying blockchain technology in their company. The CBCat acts as an expert advisor to be able to guide its members in an efficient and effective adoption.

Ecosystem

One of the objectives of the Blockchain Strategy of Catalonia is to have a map of the different companies and entities linked to the sector of blockchain and DLT technologies. The CBCat is responsible for collecting and compiling these companies.

What is blockchain technology?

Blockchain is the platform on which other next-generation technologies will converge and which will make possible an agile and complete digital transformation.

Blockchain technology is recent. It provides tools of great transformative capacity, unknown until recently. It is based on a permanent, immutable and secure register, which guarantees transactions in a decentralized manner. It dispenses, therefore, with any mediator or central body.

The database is distributed and encrypted, so the information it contains is both transparent and incorruptible. User applications are already a reality in different sectors, bringing confidence and efficiency wherever they are implemented. The blockchain is the platform on which other next-generation technologies will converge and which will make possible an agile and complete digital transformation.
